POLICE SEARCHING FOR DAUPHIN COUNTY PRISON INMATE WHO ESCAPED CUSTODY
(Harrisburg, PA - CBS-21) -- Police are searching for a Dauphin County Prison inmate who escaped custody while at Harrisburg Hospital. Officials say 34-year-old Autum Flowers is considered a wanted fugitive. Flowers was arrested in November on drugs-related charges including possession with intent to deliver. She was hospitalized Saturday and was under the guard of two corrections officers while at the hospital. Police say Flowers escaped just after midnight on Monday morning. “We are actively working to determine how this happened and will take steps to minimize the chance it can happen again,” Warden Gregory Briggs said. Her last known address was in Columbia, Lancaster County. Anyone with information on Flowers' locations is asked to contact police. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Wolf has decided how Pennsylvania's spending of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act will be directed. The majority will go toward Medicaid-funded essential care services. The plan is pending full approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

She says the "mosaic of corruption" must be put together in order to tell the truth about the former president's involvement. The latest subpoenas are for documents and testimony from those believed to have known about the plans and funding for the January 6th rallies that preceded the storming of the Capitol.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Republican Sean Parnell is suspending his campaign for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat. The decision came after a judge granted Parnell's estranged wife sole legal custody of the couple's three children. Parnell spoke with Donald Trump about his decision after the former president backed him during the competitive Republican primary in September. Allegations of domestic abuse against Parnell by his estranged wife raised concern among some Republicans about his viability as a candidate. Parnell denied all claims.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic in downtown Harrisburg will take place on Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m. The free clinic will take place at the Central PA Korean Association at 717 N. 2nd Street and offer both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines available for certain age groups. The clinic will serve patients in English, Korean and Chinese. No appointments are needed as it will be a walk-in clinic. Annual flu shots will be available as well.

The Commission for Women's sixth annual Female Veterans Day Ceremony is seeking nominations ahead of Women's History Month in March 2022. A select group of women will be honored by Governor Tom Wolf and First Lady Frances Wolf. To be eligible, the nominees must be a current Pennsylvania resident who served at least four years in any branch of the U.S. military. The deadline for nominations is January 14th. There are approximately 65,000 women Veterans in Pennsylvania.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Limited visitation is now being permitted for COVID-19 positive patients being treated at Lancaster General Hospital. In a new policy announced Monday, hospital administrators say one designated companion, who is fully vaccinated, will be permitted daily. Visitation for COVID-19 positive patients is between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and visitors must wear personal protective equipment for the entire visit. Clergy also are now allowed to visit.

(Lancaster, PA) -- A man who police say is homeless and another suspect are facing charges of beating and stealing from a man in a wheelchair due to his foot being in a cast. Police say Dave Dwayne Hunter, of Lancaster Township, and William Alexis Reyes of Lancaster, stole the man's wallet and his shoes and clothing outside a Sunoco gas station last Sunday evening. After the incident, they allegedly pushed him from his wheelchair and threw him to the ground. The man was taken to the hospital and was treated for several injuries. Hunter was arrested Saturday; it's unclear if Reyes has been taken into custody.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office says a New Holland man convicted of raping a seven-year-old boy has been sentenced to at least 14 years in prison. Mark Kevin Brown of Bridle Path was sentenced to a maximum of 40 years last Thursday after his April conviction of eight sexual abuse charges. Those included assaulting the boy many times at his home and in New Holland Community Park. Police learned of the abuse after interviewing the boy in 2018.

(Ronks, PA) -- The owners of the Esbenshade Turkey Farm in rural Paradise say their costs for raising turkeys has gone up a lot and unfortunately, the cost will be passed on to buyers. The farm, which raises up to 8-thousand Broad Breasted Whites each year, says it costs more to feed, produce, package and transport their cage-free turkeys by as much as 50 or 60 cents per pound. The American Farm Bureau says a 16-pound bird will cost on average about 24-dollars. That's up 24 percent from 2020.

(Cooperstown, PA) -- The Baseball Writers' Association of America revealed its 2022 Hall of Fame ballot Monday, showing former Philly Curt Shilling as one of the nominees. He has one more chance to be named for the honor as Schilling is in 10th and final year of eligibility. His accomplishments as a pitcher have been outstanding, but his nominations have been marred by reports that he took performance-enhancing drugs in the late 1990s. He helped lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a World Series appearance in 1993 and won championships in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and in 2004 and 2007 with the Boston Red Sox.

(Caernarvon, PA) -- The management team at Penn National Gaming has announced the opening date of its newest casino, which will be in Berks County. Pending final regulatory approval, Hollywood Casino Morgantown is scheduled to launch at noon December 22, in Caernarvon Township. Situated near the intersections of The Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 176 and Route 10, the 80,000-square-foot facility becomes Penn National Gaming's fourth Pennsylvania casino. A news release also says its building cost is just at $111 million. The facility also is expected to create 375 jobs.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvanians can expect to pay more to travel this Thanksgiving holiday. According to AAA, the average for a gallon of unleaded gas in Pennsylvania is $3.60. That's well over a dollar more than last fall but holding steady from a week ago. AAA says 48-million people will hit the road in the coming days and some five million will take to the skies. That's an increase of 13% over 2020.
