>>Police Say Woman Killed in Shooting in Harrisburg Bar Was Innocent Bystander

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Police say a woman who was shot and killed during a birthday party at a Harrisburg bar Monday night was an innocent bystander. Police say 27-year-old Jamie Bey was shot inside Al's Café on Susquehanna Street. She died later at a hospital. Police say two men who were not attending the party at the bar got into a fight and began shooting. Police believe they have a person of interest in Bey's death.

>>Nonprofit Staff Devastated Over Destruction of Historic Building in Hellam Township

(Hellam Township, PA) -- Staffers with the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Leadership say they're devastated after a fire destroyed a historic building they had used for their offices. Fire crews in York County responded to the fire at the building on Horn Road in Hellam Township Monday night. Investigators confirm a lightning strike started the blaze. Officials with the nonprofit say they salvaged their important papers, archives, and photos but that the second and third floors were destroyed. Damage is estimated at 400-thousand dollars.

>>Governor Wolf Promotes Gun Reform on Third Anniversary of Tree of Life Shootings

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf joined gun control advocates yesterday in calling for gun reform on the third anniversary the Tree of Life Synagogue shootings. Three years ago, eleven people were shot and killed at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. The governor said he will veto bills under consideration in the state legislature that would loosen gun regulations, including one that would lower the concealed carry age from 21 to 18 and eliminate permits.

>>Return to School Driving Increase in COVID-19 Testing in Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Officials with the Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg say an increase in COVID-19 testing is linked to students' return to school. They say they're also seeing many people who need to test to be able to travel and who are so-called breakthrough cases -- referring to people who have been vaccinated yet still come down with the virus. The spike in cases has not reached a point where the health center needs to add more appointments yet.

>>State Treasurer to Resume Unclaimed Property Auctions This Week

(Harrisburg, PAS) -- The Pennsylvania State Treasurer's Office says auctions of unclaimed property will resume tomorrow. The auctions were suspended due to the pandemic, making this the first auction since COVID-19 restrictions began last year. The state estimates almost four-thousand items will be sold, including jewelry, coins, and collectible toys whose owners have not claimed them in three years. The online auction runs tomorrow and Friday.

>>Perry County Prosecutor Drops Felony Charge Against Homeless Man Over 43 Cents

(Duncannon, PA) -- The Perry County prosecutor's office has decided to drop a felony charge filed by the Pennsylvania State Police against a homeless man over 43 cents. The homeless man -- Joseph Sobolewski -- bought a soda at a gas station that advertised two sodas for three dollars. He left after he paid what he thought was the sale price for one soda -- a dollar and a half -- but the sale stated a customer had to buy two bottles for the sale price. Sobolewski was arrested for failing to pay the 29-cent difference -- plus sales tale of another 14-cents. The prosecutor's office quietly dropped the charge this month. He still faces a separate charge of driving with a suspended license and must appear in court next month. 

>>Operations at Johnson Controls Plant in York Suspended Following Worker's Death

(York, PA) -- Operations at the Johnson Controls plant in East Manchester Township in York County have been suspended following a worker's death at the plant. The employee -- identified as 20-year-old Christopher Raul of Shrewsbury Township -- died when a piece of heavy equipment fell on him and pinned him. He died later at a hospital. Plant officials are investigating the accident. They say operations at the plant are suspended until further notice. 

>>York Man Sentenced After Pleading Guilty in 2019 Murder of Solomon Moore

(York, PA) -- A York man has been sentenced for between 8 and 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty Monday to the 2019 shooting death of Solomon Moore. Court documents state 31-year-old Marvin Butler pleaded guilty in York County court to voluntary manslaughter and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Police say Butler told them he was acting in self-defense, but that evidence showed Moore was running away from Butler at the time of the shooting. Butler was also wanted in Springettsbury Township for the alleged sale of cocaine.

>>Body Discovered in Berks County is Identified, Believed to Be Homicide Victim

(Reading, PA) -- Authorities in Berks County say a man whose body was discovered in a park on Mount Penn on Monday was a homicide victim. Central Berks Regional Police say the man is 28-year-old Anthony DelCollo from Exeter Township. His body was found Monday afternoon in Rotary Park off List Road in Lower Alsace Township. An autopsy is being conducted to determine cause of death. 

>>York County SPCA Ready to Reopen

(Emigsville, PA) -- Officials with the York County SPCA say they're ready to reopen their doors to their facility in Emigsville after they had to close almost 20 months ago. The agency continued performing most services online while their facility was closed while the number of animals they accepted increased. The SPCA will reopen November 9th for anyone who wants to adopt their pets. 

>>Two From Berks County Charged With Theft

(Adamstown, PA) -- Two Berks County residents are facing charges of theft, criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy, and possessing instruments of a crime. Twenty-eight-year-old Jenna Belcher and 35-year-old Nathan Conard, both from Sinking Spring, were arrested trying to empty change machines at the Kwik 'N Kleen car wash in Caernarvon Township. The two are accused of doing the same crime at the Adamstown Car Wash on October 13. They are both in the Berks County Jail.

>>Reading To Break Ground On New Fire Station Next Week

(Reading, PA) -- Reading will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for its new fire station next Friday at 11 a.m. The city council unanimously awarded the final construction contract for the project on Monday to Myerstown-based Shannon A. Smith Incorporated for the HVAC system. The new station will replace Reading's oldest one. The city has awarded nearly nine-million-dollars in contracts.

>>Berks Cares Vaccine Center Reopens

(Muhlenberg Township, PA) -- The Berks Cares Vaccine Center will reopen today to provide free COVID-19 vaccines. Berks County officials say first, second, and third doses will be available. The clinic will be open from Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the foreseeable future. The center will be in the North Reading Plaza in Muhlenberg Township.

>>State Trooper Dies

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police are mourning the loss of one of their own. Trooper Dung X Martinez died on Tuesday morning after spending time in the hospital. Martinez has been with Pennsylvania State Police since 2000. The 57-year-old is survived by his wife and two children. No word yet on what led to his death.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania ranks very high when it comes to the amount of people vaccinated against COVID-19. State health officials report that over 90-percent of adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Data shows that 71.4% of Pennsylvanians are fully vaccinated. The state ranks number-six in the country in first doses administered.

>>Deer Sightings Increase

(Undated) -- Pennsylvania drivers are starting to see more wildlife as they make their way around the state. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says this definitely goes for deer. Transportation officials are reminding drivers to stay focused for the large animals during morning and evening hours. Folks can contact Penn-DOT if roadkill presents a safety hazard on a state-maintained road.

>>Man Takes Thousands from Employer

(Fairview Township, PA) -- Police in York County have charged a Camp Hill man with stealing nearly $20,000 from his job. According to PennLive, this happened within the span of ten-days in September 2020 when the suspect decided not to deposit cash into the bank account of his employer. He instead allegedly chose to use the funds for his personal use. The suspect has been charged with third-degree felony theft.

>>Sixers Handled by Knicks

(New York, NY) -- The Philadelphia 76ers now have an even record after being destroyed by the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Philadelphia came out strong in the first quarter before getting outscored 39-to-16 in the second. From there, the Knicks remained in control for the rest of the game as they went on to win 112-to-99. New York had four-starters score in double-digits while Sixers forward Tobias Harris finished just shy of a triple-double. Philly will get some rest today before returning home for a matchup with the winless Detroit Pistons.
