>>Harrisburg School District To Appoint New Superintendent

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg School District's Court Appointed Receiver is going to be hosting a special business meeting today to appoint its new superintendent. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m.  

Dr. Janet Samuels will be officially appointing Eric Turman as the next superintendent of the school district. Turman was selected as the finalist during a nationwide search which was done in collaboration with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

>>Person Injured After Shooting in York City

(York, PA) -- One person is recovering at the hospital after they were shot in York City. The shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the 500-block of Walnut Street. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital via private vehicle for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information on the incident is being asked to contact the York City Police Department.

>>Woman Accused Of Shooting Another Woman In Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A 27-year-old woman is being accused of shooting another woman in Harrisburg. The shooting happened last week in the 14-hundred-block of Swatara Street. Ciera Bruce was taken into custody Thursday night, and she is facing several charges including criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg man is being accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. Thirty-year-old Fred Thomas was taken into custody Friday night, and he is facing several charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and unlawful contact with minors. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 29th.

(North Codorus Township, PA) -- One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in York County. The accident happened Saturday afternoon in the area of Seven Valleys Road and Grothey Road in North Codorus Township. Police say a man driving a motorcycle lost control before striking a parked truck. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

(Carlisle, PA) -- Destination Carlisle is going to be holding a dedication event for the Hot-Chee Dog at the Hamilton Restaurant this week. The event will be on Thursday, and both the old and current owners of the Hamilton will be there to unveil the marker. The restaurant will also be celebrating its 83rd birthday.

(York, PA) -- Authorities are investigating a possible arson after a fire burned down a home in York County. The fire happened Friday night in the 15-thousand-block of Thompson Road near Shrewsbury Township. Police say a discharged Roman Candle firework was found next to the structure. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact P-S-P York.

(Penn Township, PA) -- A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Lancaster County. The accident happened yesterday afternoon on Auction Road near Kennedy Court in Penn Township. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

>>Man Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Woman In Berks County

(Colebrookdale Township, PA) -- A man is behind bars for allegedly stabbing a woman inside a convenience store in Berks County. The incident happened yesterday morning at the Circle K store in the 12-hundred-block of Montgomery Avenue in Colebrookedale Township. Police say the victim was stabbed in her torso while she was sitting in her car in the parking lot. Twenty-three-year-old Tyler Laughran was arrested, and he is facing several charges including aggravated and simple assault, possession of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

>>Peanuts Left Off Menu At FirstEnergy Stadium

(Reading, PA) -- Fans of the Reading Fightin' Phils are probably wondering why a favorite baseball snack is being left off the menu at FirstEnergy Stadium. Team officials announced over the weekend that peanuts will be temporarily removed from concession stands. Food and Beverage Director Travis Hart says the snack is being removed because the team didn't feel comfortable with staff members picking up peanut shells that may have been in contact with someone who has COVID.

(Cumru Township, PA) -- Police are searching for several suspects who are being accused of robbing a shop in Berks County. Authorities announced over the weekend that the burglary happened earlier this month at Evolution Powersport in Shillington. Multiple suspects broke into the business and attempted to steal motorcycles and ATVs. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Crime Alert Berks County, and you can receive up to ten-thousand-dollars for any tip that leads to an arrest.

>>Barn Damaged By Fire In Berks County

(Maxatawny Township, PA) -- Authorities are looking into what caused a barn fire in Berks County. The blaze broke out Saturday morning at a barn along High Road in Maxatawny Township. Police say several animals needed to be evacuated, but nobody was reported injured.

>>Community Rallies Behind Transgender Athlete

(Lancaster County, PA) -- Pennsylvanians are rallying behind a transgender athlete from Lancaster County. Many started to rally behind the student athlete after another teen started a petition to support her and call on Hempfield High School to be more inclusive. Some members of the community have spoken out against letting the transgender athlete compete in girls' sports, but the petition has garnered over 12-hundred signatures. Officials from Hempfield High have yet to comment on the subject, but the matter has been mentioned in several school board meetings.

>>PennDOT Closing Centers In Observance Of Juneteenth

(Harrisburg, Pa) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is closing all driver's license and photo centers this Friday in observance of Juneteenth. Officials say Pennsylvanians can still go to www.dmv.pa.gov for driver and vehicle products and services while their facilities are closed.

>>Police Arrest Man Who Caused Shelter In Place Order

(Bradford County, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police are confirming they arrested a man who caused them to issue a shelter in place order in Bradford County over the weekend. Police say on Saturday, Christopher Shulas allegedly choked a teen until she blacked out in Ulster Township after she accused him of stealing her graduation money. He then reportedly fled with two explosive devices. Troopers then initiated a shelter in place order and asked residents to lock their doors as they searched for Shulas. He was eventually apprehended and is currently facing charges of assault and more.

>>Man Dies In Explosion

(Eagleville, PA) -- The man who allegedly set his home on fire last week in Montgomery County after a confrontation with an inspector has been found dead. Authorities say that a code enforcement officer went to his home for a follow-up inspection, and the man was not happy about it. That's when he went back inside, there was a series of explosions, and the house went up in flames. The inspector suffered only minor injuries. Detectives have not released the name of the man who died in this incident.

>>Cole Hamels Puts Home Up For Sale

(Newtown Square, PA) -- The home of a former Philadelphia Phillies star is up for sale. Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi are moving out of their house in Delaware County. They moved into their custom built home in 2014, and they're now selling it for two-point-five-million-dollars. ABC-6 reports that the home is fully loaded with six-bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, a four-car garage, a pool and a pool house to go along with it.
