>>Harrisburg Eviction Moratorium Extended Again

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg's eviction moratorium is being extended for the fifth time since the beginning of the pandemic. Mayor Eric Papenfuse announced the extension on Friday. Under the moratorium, the city is suspending the eviction, ejectment or displacement of tenants or occupants from any residential dwelling unit as well as prohibiting water shut-offs for any delinquency or non-payment. With the new extension, it will now be in effect until June 15th.

>>Police Investigating Murder-Suicide In Dauphin County

(Swatara Township, PA) -- Authorities are investigating a murder suicide in Dauphin County. The incident happened around midnight on Friday at a home in the 600- block of Mohn Street in Swatara Township. Police say they were dispatched to a reported domestic incident, and that's when officers found a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds inside the house.

>>Next Generation 911 Coming To York County

(York, PA) -- York County is going to be upgrading its emergency system for 911 calls. The county is expected to have the new system called Next Generation 911 in place by June of 2023. Officials say the new system will provide 911 operators more accurate caller information as well as allowing them to transfer calls to correct jurisdictions.

(Lyons, PA) -- The Berks Fiddle Fest is going to be returning this year, but it's going to look a little different. While it is usually held in the Lyons park, it will be held at the Bear Creek Mountain Resort this September. Organizers say the new location was needed to accommodate the almost 300-thousand visitors who come to the festival each year.

(Reading, PA) -- A Reading man is facing multiple charges for the death of his fiancée. Authorities confirmed over the weekend that Joseph Alley was taken into custody recently, but he is now out on a 15-thousand-dollar bail. Alley is being accused of hitting his fiancée, Mikerrah Page, with a vehicle during a domestic dispute. Page succumbed to her injuries several days later.

(Lancaster Township, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an 18-year-old man who is being accused of hitting a trooper with a car in Lancaster County earlier last week. Authorities say they recovered the car that was allegedly used by David Pratt on a property along Conestoga Woods Drive in Lancaster Township on Friday. A five-thousand-dollar reward is being offered for information that leads to Pratt's arrest. Anyone with any information is being asked to call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The Lancaster City Police Department is retiring a horse that has been in service for about 20 years. A 22-year-old Percheron named Duke will now be living the rest of his life on a private farm. He has been a part of many memorable protection details including serving at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh in 2009 and protecting Pope Francis during his visit to Philadelphia in 2015. Lancaster City Police recently introduced a new horse named Jake, who will begin patrolling the city's downtown area this month.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Police are still searching for a missing woman. Thirty-seven-year-old Heather Karner was last seen in the area of Sixth and Court Street on March 12th. Officials say it is unclear at this time if she is still in that area. Anyone who has any information on her whereabouts is being asked to call the Reading Police Department.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reminding fully vaccinated individuals that businesses can still require face masks, despite the new CDC guidance. Last week, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated individuals don't have to wear masks indoors or outdoors, except when in crowded transportation or sensitive environments like hospitals. However, state health officials say workplaces may still require the added layer of protection for their employees or customers. They ask that Pennsylvanians continue to be kind and respectful of each other as the effort to vaccinate everyone and fight COVID-19 continues.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Department of Labor and Industry is reporting that the Extended Benefits Program for those receiving unemployment benefits has ended. Officials say this is due to the declining unemployment rate in the state. They added that those who have been collecting the extended benefits will transition back to federal Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation. This transfer will be automatic and will not impact the filing process or benefit amount for anyone.

>>Bill To Hold Back Students For One Year

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow parents to decide if they want their child to repeat a school year. The repeated school year would be for the student to make up for learning losses caused by the pandemic, and the bill would only apply to the 2021 through 2022 school year. Lawmakers say in many cases, students were being taught by their parents at home so they would have a better understanding of what the educational loss would be. The bill was passed by the Senate last week and now heads to a House committee before a potential final vote.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Some area residents have rallied in support of Palestinians. This after Israeli forces launched airstrikes in Gaza last week, killing at least 188 Palestinians with at least 42 of those deaths were from yesterday. Over one-hundred people marched through Harrisburg yesterday calling for the U.S. to withdraw funds from Israel and for voters to elect leaders that will stand up against Israel. Activists say this ethnic cleansing has been going on for decades, hundreds of Palestinians are dying, children are losing their futures, and parents are losing their children to the Israeli government.

>>Final Day To File Taxes

(Undated) -- The last day for Pennsylvanians to file taxes is today. Tax Day was pushed back by the federal government to May 17th due to the pandemic, and several states, including Pennsylvania, followed suit and pushed the state tax deadline to today. Pennsylvanians are urged to file their taxes today, and those who need more time to file can request for the deadline to be extended until October 15th.

>>Sixers Secure Top Spot In East

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Philadelphia 76ers have secured the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Yesterday's season finale with the Orlando Magic ended with a 128-to-117 win for Philadelphia. It is not clear who the Sixers will play in the first round of the playoffs due to the new play-in tournament for the seventh-and-eighth seeds. Philly will have home court throughout the playoffs in the East.
