>Officials: Stored Medical Supplies, Not P-P-E Destroyed At P-A Farm Show Complex

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Officials with the Governor’s office say a batch of medical supplies, which included COVID-19 test vials, that were being stored at the P-A Farm Show Complex have been destroyed. It’s reported the items were donated by the federal government and were disposed of using the same method the medical community uses. Despite claims from several Republican lawmakers, the Governor’s office says no P-P-E being stored at the Farm Show Complex was destroyed. Earlier this week, there were accusations that some of the P-P-E was taken to an incinerator.

>>Police: Drunk, Pregnant Mom Caused Wreck Killing Son

(Manheim Twp., PA) -- Investigators say a pregnant woman is to blame for a crash that killed her eleven-year-old son and injured several other people in Lancaster County. Jennifer Johnson was over twice the legal limit when she was driving the wrong way on Lititz Pike in Manheim Township this week before striking another vehicle head on, according to police. The wreck killed her son and caused serious injury to two others. Neither the 35-year-old Johnson nor her son were wearing seatbelts.

>>Wolf Signs Bill Moving State Tax Deadline

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is officially aligning P-A’s tax deadline with the May 17th federal deadline. Signing the bill yesterday, Wolf says the move allowed P-A businesses get organized and simplify filing without worrying about fines and penalties that could accrue because of the differing deadlines. The corporate net income tax return is now due the 15th day of the month following the due date of the federal return.

>>Rohrer Bus Allowing School Bus Test Drives Tomorrow

(Duncannon, PA) -- Rohrer Bus is holding several test-drive events tomorrow across the Midstate. Those interested can take a school bus around parking lots at Northern York High School, C-V High School, and Susquehanna Township High School tomorrow with one of their school bus trainers. They will also be collecting food donations for New Hope Ministries at the Northern York High event.

(Hershey, PA) -- The Hershey Bears are keeping their head coach around for a while longer. The team and the Washington Capitals announced yesterday Spencer Carbery signed a multi-year extension to lead the Chocolate and White. Hershey is 96-48-nine-and-eight under Carbery over three seasons.

(York, PA) -- The York College of Pennsylvania is launching a new scholarship program to give better opportunities to students from low-income households. The York County Promise Program is set to kick off this fall semester, and it will be awarding full-tuition scholarships to those who are eligible. Prospective students must have at least a three-point-three G-P-A and come from a family with a gross adjusted income of 75-thousand-dollars-or-less.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania is seeing a rise of more positive COVID-19 cases. The state's Department of Health reported more than 41-hundred new positive cases yesterday. There are currently about 28-hundred people hospitalized statewide with the coronavirus, and of those cases, 579 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit.

>>Goodridge Freeman Center Planning To Erect First African-American Statue In York

(York, PA) -- The Goodridge Freeman Center is putting plans together to erect York's first-ever African American statue. The center will be one of the organizations participating in the Give Local York event on May 7th. It is hoping to raise enough money at the event to put up a statue of William Goodridge outside the center by next year. Goodridge was born enslaved and became a free man at a young age before he moved to York where he played a major role in the Underground Railroad.

>>Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Arrested

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police are charging one of its own for allegedly tampering with evidence. The P-S-P announced yesterday that Trooper Trask Alexander is currently suspended without pay after he was accused of trying to remove a traffic citation that was issued by another trooper who was his acquaintance last year. He is facing several misdemeanor charges including tampering with records or identification, tampering with public records or information and obstructing administration of law or other governmental function. An internal investigation is still ongoing.

>>Lancaster County District Attorney Believes Human Remains Belong To Linda Stoltzfoos

(Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams is saying she believes the human remains that were found Wednesday are of Linda Stotlzfoos, an 18-year-old Amish woman who has been missing since last June. Adams announced yesterday the remains were found on railroad property wrapped in a tarp and placed inside a grave about 40-inches deep. Detectives also uncovered a bonnet, dress and shoes consistent with clothing worn by Sotltzfoos the day she was last seen leaving a church service.

>>Commissioners Start Allocating COVID-19 Relief Funding To Businesses In Berks County

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County commissioners are starting to allocate COVID-19 relief funding to hospitality businesses around the area. The commissioners voted yesterday to approve of a resolution on how to give out the almost three-and-a-half-million-dollars in funding from the COVID Hospitality Industry Recovery Program. Officials say more than 110 businesses, including hotels, motels, taverns and restaurants, were awarded grants worth about ten-to-50-thousand-dollars. The next round of applications begins Mondaym and the deadline is set for May 17th at 5:00 p.m.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The Lancaster County Community Vaccination Center is expanding its same-day COVID-19 vaccine availability starting tomorrow. Same-day appointments will now be available for walk-ins from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day. You can also schedule an appointment in advance for the center located at 600 Park City Center in Lancaster by visiting Vaccinate Lancaster's website.

>>Reading School Board To Vote To Approve Licensing Agreements For New Apparel

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading School Board is going to be voting next week to approve two licensing agreements to sell new state championship apparel. The board will vote Wednesday to allow SV Sports in Pottstown and D-and-D Screenprinting in Kutztown to start selling apparel with the district's trademark to commemorate the high school basketball team's state title win this year. If the agreement is approved, the district will receive about five-percent of the net revenues.
