(Reading, PA) -- Reading's gun buyback program is preparing to launch soon. Officials announced yesterday that the program is going to be held April 24th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will allow people to sell their guns to the city without consequence. Officials say the program will be held in two different locations in the city, but they are still working on final arrangements at this time.

>>Man Accused Of Killing Woman In Reading Hit-and-Run Arrested

(Reading, PA) -- A man is being accused of killing a woman in a hit-and-run accident in Reading. Officials announced yesterday that 21-year-old Anthony Luis Figueroa of Bernville has been taken into custody and is facing multiple charges including accident involving death or personal injury, homicide by vehicle, illegal racing and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked. Authorities say Figueroa was racing a Mercedes in his BMW on North 11th Street last month when he struck another vehicle at a high rate of speed, killing Sandra Dardis. He is free on 15-thousand-dollar bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place April 16th.

>>Rapper From Reading Sentenced For Drug Trafficking

(Reading, PA) -- A rapper from Reading is going to be spending a lot of time behind bars for trafficking drugs in Berks County. Louis Daniel Morales, who also goes by Trouble, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and also ordered to spend five years on supervised release. He pleaded guilty last October to three felony counts of manufacture, possession and distribution of a controlled substance. Authorities say Morales is a self-identified member of the gang called the Nine Trey Gangsters, and he was a part of a conspiracy for trafficking meth, heroin and cocaine throughout Berks County.

>>Berks County Farm's Rent-a-Chick Program Returning This Year

(Brecknock Township, PA) -- Families in Berks County are going to be available to experience what it's like to raise chicks this year. Swartz's Roadside Stand in Brecknock Township announced recently that it has started its rent-a-chick program. The program provides two chicks plus food, water, a heat lamp and shavings for 40-dollars to allow families to take the chicks home for two weeks to care for them. Participating families will have the option of keeping the chicks after the two weeks is up. More information can be found on the Swartz's Roadside Stand's Facebook page.

>>Fire In Lancaster County Displaces Three People

(Clay Township, PA) -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire in Lancaster County that displaced about three people. The fire happened yesterday morning at a home in the 800-block of Maple Street in Clay Township. No one was reported injured at the scene, but officials say the blaze caused about one-hundred-thousand-dollars in damages.
