>>York State Fair Preparing To Return This Summer

(York, PA) -- The York State Fair is preparing to return this summer after it was forced to cancel all events last year because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. York State Fair CEO Bryan Blair announced over the weekend that the fair is expected to begin on July 23rd. The fair is planning to host all of its normal activities and vendors as COVID restrictions in the state are lifted. Musicians Pitbull, Sam Hunt and Kane Brown are scheduled to have concerts at the fair this year. More information can be found on the York State Fair's official website.

>>State Police Seize More Than $500k THC Edibles In Lebanon County

(Lebanon, PA) -- Two people are now behind bars after P-A State Police seized more than $500,000 worth of THC edibles in Lebanon County. The edibles were found inside a vehicle during a traffic stop that happened this past Saturday morning on Interstate 78. Authorities say they recovered nine-thousand grams of THC edibles, 95-hundred grams of THC cartridges and 450 grams of THC candy bars during the stop. Chanthorn Khut and Veronica Desimone were both taken into custody and are facing charges including possession with intent to deliver.

>>Man Wanted For Evading Police In Dauphin County Arrested In Florida

(Williamstown, PA) -- A man who was wanted in Dauphin County for escaping two police pursuits is now behind bars in Florida. Authorities confirmed over the weekend that Gregory Allen Daniels was taken into custody in Ormond Beach, Florida this past Friday. He is being accused of leading police in Dauphin County on two separate chases while he was driving a stolen vehicle. Officials say he is facing charges in Florida and will be extradited to Dauphin County soon.

>>Applications For Rental Assistance Temporarily Delayed In Berks County

(Reading, PA) -- Those who are searching for rental assistance in Berks County are going to have to wait for at least a week to send in their applications. Officials announced over the weekend that applications for the Berks County Emergency Rental Assistance Program are going to be temporarily delayed until next Wednesday when the portal will reopen starting at 8:00 a.m. Applications will be accepted until August 30th. Officials say the reason for the delay is to allow staff to catch up on an overwhelming number of applications that have been submitted already.

>>Two State Lawmakers In Berks County Preparing To Reopen Office In Hamburg

(Hamburg, PA) -- Two Pennsylvania lawmakers who represent parts of Berks County are preparing to reopen their shared office in Hamburg soon. Senator Dave Argall and Representative Jerry Knowles announced recently that their office at the Hamburg Borough Hall is going to reopen this Wednesday. It will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary to visit the office.

>>FirstEnergy Stadium To Honor Reading High School Basketball Team

(Reading, PA) -- FirstEnergy Stadium is going to be honoring the Reading High School boys' basketball team. The Reading Fightin Phils announced over the weekend that an event to celebrate the team's state-championship victory will be held April 17th at 4:00 p.m. The event is free, but a ticket is required to enter the park. Officials say they are encouraging guests to wear masks and maintain social distancing during the celebration.

>>Lancaster County Man Accused Of Breaking Into Home Before Shooting Passing Police Car

(East Cocalico Township, PA) -- A Lancaster County man is being accused of breaking into a home and shooting a rifle at a passing police car. The incident happened yesterday morning at a residence in East Cocalico Township. Authorities say they arrested 47-year-old Matthew Stoyer of Denver after he allegedly broke into the home and stole several handguns and a rifle before firing multiple rounds inside the home and in the area of a passing police vehicle. He is facing several charges including burglary, criminal trespass and recklessly endangering another person. Anyone with any information on the incident is being asked to contact the East Cocalico Township Police Department.

>>Body Found In Lake In Lancaster County

(Martic Township, PA) -- Authorities are launching an investigation after a body was found in a lake in Lancaster County. A dive team recovered an elderly man's body from a lake located in the eleven-hundred-block of Pennsy Road in Martic Township yesterday morning. A forensic center is working on identifying the man. Officials say an autopsy is scheduled to take place today to determine his cause of death.

>>Restrictions Loosened For Restaurants, Bars, Gyms, Casinos

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Restaurants, gyms, theaters, malls and casinos are now able to increase capacity to 75-percent as the state loosened COVID-19 restrictions yesterday. Along with the indoor capacity boost, bar services can return with no curfew for ordering drinks and patrons in restaurants can buy alcohol without having to purchase a meal first. However, customers must still practice social distance and wear masks.

>>Rest Of Phase One-B Eligible For Vaccine Today

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The remaining groups in Phase One-B are now eligible to make appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Last week, health officials opened eligibility to some groups in Phase One-B, which included first responders, grocery store workers and goods and agriculture workers. This expansion in eligibility means that postal workers, manufacturing, clergy and transit workers can get vaccinated starting today.

>>Man Hospitalized After Helicopter Crash In Lebanon County

(Lebanon County, PA) -- A 68-year-old pilot is in the hospital after a helicopter crash in Lebanon County on Saturday. Officials say the crash happened after 4 p.m. on Saturday, at Reigle Airport in South Londonderry Township. Officials have not given any details on the cause of the crash, but the pilot suffered minor injuries.

>>State Completes Teacher Vaccination Initiative

(Kingston, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf says the state's initiative to vaccinate teachers from COVID-19 is finished. Wolf says more than 112-thousand educators were vaccinated in the process, and that they actually reached their goal last Wednesday, about two weeks earlier than expected. The initiative was first announced a month ago with the intention to help more students and teachers get back in the classroom quicker and safer.

>>Lawmakers Propose Legislation Against COVID Passports

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Despite no indications that the state will implement a COVID-19 vaccine passport program, lawmakers are working to prevent that from ever happening. State Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill, Judy Ward and Michele Brooks say such a program is an extreme government intrusion. They added that the government should not ask residents to reveal personal health information. Governor Tom Wolf has not confirmed any plan for a passport program, but says he would support it if the legislature proposed one.

>>Eagles Mascot Vaccinated

(Philadelphia, PA) -- City officials are encouraging everyone to get their coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available to them. The Eagles mascot has been listening and chose to follow suit over the weekend. Swoop decided to get his shot yesterday while he paid a visit to the vaccination center in Center City. He also said a hearty 'thank you' to members of the military that were there to get vaccinated.

>>Phillies Sweep Braves In Season Opener Series

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Phillies are on a roll after a series sweep of the Atlanta Braves. Philadelphia won each of the three-games by a total score of 9-to-3. It is enough to give them a commanding lead in the N-L East after the first weekend in the 2021 season! City restrictions were eased a little yesterday, meaning up to 11-thousand fans will be allowed at Phillies games moving forward. Philly will begin a three-game series with the New York Mets this evening at 7:05.
