(Harrisburg, PA) -- Two public transportation companies in Harrisburg are going to help out residents who are planning to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Capital Area Transit and rabbittransit announced yesterday that they will be giving free shared-ride transportation services to anyone who needs help getting to their scheduled COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Those who are interested in getting a free ride are being encouraged to contact rabbittransit's call center or Capital Area Transit's customer service center.

>>Harrisburg Extends Eviction Moratorium

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg is extending its eviction moratorium for the second time since the federal moratorium ended last month. The city announced yesterday that the moratorium will be extended for 30 days, which means that no tenant can be evicted for not paying rent through March 16th. Mayor Eric Papenfuse says the extension was made because people are still facing hardships during the pandemic.

>>York County Couple Being Charged For Injuring Baby

(Hanover, PA) -- A couple from Hanover is being accused of shaking a baby enough to cause skull fractures. Kayota Branson Beck and Jocylena Isabelle Beck were charged yesterday with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault of a victim less than six years of age and simple assault. Penn Township Police launched an investigation on the couple last month after they responded to call for an unresponsive infant. Police say the infant was taken to the U-P-M-C Hanover Hospital for multiple skull fractures as well as a broken arm and a broken rib.

>>Suspect Wanted In Connection To West York Shooting

(West York, PA) -- West York Borough Police are asking the public for help in locating a suspect who is being accused of shooting and killing a man over the weekend. The department issued a warrant yesterday for Ronald Boyd Junior. Boyd is being charged with homicide in connection to the murder of Angel Perez that happened this past Sunday at a house in the 14-hundred-block of West Market Street. Police say Boyd is being considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact the West York Borough Police Department.

>>Mayor Eddie Moran Unveils Three-Part Plan to Stop Gun Violence in Reading

(Reading, PA) -- Mayor Eddie Moran is proposing a new plan to help stop gun violence in Reading. Mayor Moran unveiled his three-part plan during a press conference yesterday. The plan involves introducing a gun buy-back program, setting up a community police program and partnering with more local organizations like the Boys-and-Girls club and Moms Demand Action. The mayor says there will be more city meetings in the future before the plan is implemented.

>>About 80 People Evicted After Apartment Building is Condemned

(West Reading, PA) -- About 80 people in West Reading are now looking for a new home after their apartment building was condemned. The Franklin Manor Apartments was condemned yesterday afternoon because the landlord failed to make necessary repairs and had overdue bills. The evicted tenants are being assisted by the Representatives of Centro Hispano and Berks Coalition to End Homelessness.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Science Center is being rewarded a grant to help support its STEM program. The center announced yesterday that it is accepting a 357-thousand-dollar grant from the Giorgi Family Foundation. Officials say the money will be used to develop a Girls-in-STEM program that will be made available for middle-school-aged girls in Berks County. The program is expected to launch this coming spring.

(Wernersville, PA) -- Kate Gosselin is selling her home in Wernersville. It was announced yesterday that the home where the hit show "Kate Plus Eight" was filmed was sold for more than one-million-dollars. The home features six bedrooms, seven baths and has about 23 acres of private land. Gosselin bought the house in 2008.

>>Phillies Sign Lancaster County Native for Minor League Deal

(Lancaster, PA) -- The Philadelphia Phillies are welcoming Lancaster County native Travis Jankowski to their minor league system. The team announced yesterday that they signed Jankowski to a minor league deal and he is expected to participate in spring training this season. Jankowski graduated from Lancaster Catholic and was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 2012 MLB draft.

>>Geisinger Postponing Vaccine Appointments Due To Shipping Delays

(Williamsport, PA) -- Geisinger is rescheduling some COVID-19 vaccine appointments due to shipping delays caused by the winter storms. Those who were scheduled to receive their first dose of the vaccine today at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital and Geisinger Health Plan Building will be moved to Sunday, February 28th. Those who were planning to get their second dose of the vaccine this Friday at those two locations, and Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, will be rescheduled for Sunday, February 21st.

>>Six People Displaced After Schuylkill County Fire

(Wayne Township, PA) -- Six people are displaced after a fire in a Wayne Township home yesterday morning. Officials say they were dispatched to a home in the 24-hundred-block of Panther Valley Road in Wayne Township yesterday around 11:30 a.m. after reports of the blaze. Fire officials did not clear the scene until 1:30 p.m. and the fire left six people, including a child, without a home, but no one was injured. The Red Cross is already assisting the family. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but officials don't believe it was suspicious.
