>>Harrisburg Bans Evictions Under 2021 Emergency Order

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg City Council is going to be banning evictions to help home renters who may be struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The council approved to create an emergency order on Friday. The emergency order will be suspending evictions for financial reasons for city residents by at least 30 days. It is set to begin in mid-January of next year and the council can extend it for more 30-day periods through the end of 2021.

>>Code Orange Air Quality in Effect Today

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is issuing a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day today. The Action Day was issued yesterday because a strong temperature inversion is going to contribute to concentrations of fine particulate matter in the Code Orange range. Several southeastern and southcentral counties are going to be affected including Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster and York. Residents are being asked to help limit air pollution by not using gas-powered lawn or garden equipment and avoid burning leaves and trash in the open.

(York County, PA) -- Construction on building a new morgue in York County is continuing this week. The morgue is expected to be completed by mid-February of next year. It is being built to create more space for hospitals in the county as COVID-related deaths continue to rise. The new morgue is also going to include an examination room and a viewing room for grieving families.

(Codorus Township, PA) -- An 18-year-old man is dead after a car crash in York County. The accident happened Friday on Blooming Grove Road in Codorus Township. The York County coroner's office say the man accidentally drove over the center line before hitting another vehicle. He later died from his injuries at University Pittsburgh of Medical Center Pinnacle Hanover.

>>York City Man Dies After Hit-And-Run

(York, PA) -- One man is dead after a hit-and-run in Manchester Township. The incident happened Saturday morning in the area of National Tire and Battery. Police say a 40-year-old man from York City was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene. The investigation is still ongoing.

>>Two Passersby Credited With Saving Lower Allen Township Family From House Fire

(Lower Allen Twp., PA) -- Two passersby are being called heroes after rescuing two people from a Lower Allen Township home that was on fire yesterday morning. It happened on the 39-hundred block of Gettysburg Road when Tom McCutcheon and Michael Sherrick saw the blaze and woke the family inside up. No injuries are reported and there’s no word on what may have started the fire.

>>PA Adds Another 98-Hundred COVID-19 Cases

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Department of Health is adding another 9,834 COVID-19 cases across the Commonwealth. The Saturday announcement brings the statewide total to 548,489 confirmed or probable cases since the start of the pandemic. At last report, over 6,086 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, with just over 1,200 in the ICU.

>>Boyfriend Arrested In Swatara Township Woman’s Death

(Swatara Twp., PA) -- The boyfriend of a woman found dead in her Swatara Township home last week is being accused of strangling her. Police arrested Triston Nicholson Wednesday afternoon in York for the death of Kelly Anne Patton, who was found dead that day at her apartment on South Harrisburg Street. Pennlive reports the woman told her mother days before the incident that if anything happened to her, the 35-year-old would likely be responsible. Nicholson reportedly confessed to another woman that he had killed Patton because he believed she was cheating on him.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- One person is in stable condition after being shot in Harrisburg Friday night. It happened on the 600-block of Schuylkill Street. So far, no arrests have been made and police are investigating.

>>Penn State Opts Out Of Bowl Season

(State College, PA) -- Penn State’s football season is over. The school announced after their win over Illinois Saturday night that they would decline any bowl invitations this season. Head Coach James Franklin and A-D Sandy Barbour said they wanted their student athletes to enjoy the time with their families before returning for the spring semester.

(Bern Township, PA) -- St. Joseph Medical Center is going to move its COVID-19 testing location. The center announced Friday that the testing site in its campus parking lot will be moving to 2493 MacArthur Road in Bern Township. It will open today at 7:30 a.m. Officials say the decision to relocate is to help accommodate for the demand of COVID-19 testing.

>>Man Dies In Reading House Fire

(Reading, PA) -- One person is dead after a house fire in Reading. The fire happened near 11th and Spruce streets yesterday morning. Fire officials say a body was discovered on the floor of the residence as crews were trying to extinguish the flames. A couple of firefighters were also injured after they fell through the home's floors, but they are in stable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

>>Berks County Authorities Investigating Vehicle Theft

(Berks County, PA) -- The Caernarvon Township Police Department is investigating a vehicle theft. A ten-thousand-dollar reward was issued yesterday for anyone with information that leads to an arrest for a vehicle theft that happened earlier this month. Police say a 2007 Ford E-350 van with Rhode Island registration was stolen from the Holiday Inn parking lot on the 61-hundred-block of Morgantown Road. Anyone with any information on the theft is being asked to submit a tip to Crime Alert Berks County.

>>Lancaster County Man Found Injured On Side Of Route 501

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County man is being treated at the hospital after a possible hit-and-run incident. The incident occurred Friday morning on Route 501 in Warwick Township. Police say they found an unresponsive man lying on the side of the road with laceration wounds. He was transported to the hospital, but police weren't able to question him on how he suffered his injuries. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department.

(Berks County, PA) -- Klein Transportation is welcoming a new president. The Berks-based company announced Friday that Alison Klein will be stepping up as its next president. Alison Klein is the daughter of Wayne Klein and will be the family's fourth generation to take the role.

>>Pet Pantry Reports Thousands Worth Of Goods Stolen

(Luzerne County, PA) -- The Luzerne County Animal Response Team is reporting that someone stole thousands of dollars' worth of pet food and supplies from their pantry over the weekend. The group started their pantry to help those who may be unemployed due to the pandemic feed their pets. Officials say the thieves have to be re-selling it or doing something illegal with it, and it's very upsetting as the supplies that were stolen were going to people for free to help them out. The investigation into the theft is ongoing. The Luzerne County Animal Response Team is raising money on their website to make up for the stolen supplies.
