ONE-TWO WINTER PUNCH THIS WEEK (WEATHER UPDATE)

(CBS 21 WEATHER) ONE-TWO WINTER PUNCH THIS WEEK:

Winter is going to strike central PA much of the upcoming week with cold, and yes, snow! A weak, fast moving system will clip central PA today with rain and light snow. Temperatures are marginal so rain will mix in at times. A coating to 2 inches is possible, especially across the higher terrain. If the storm ends up being all snow, we could wind up seeing a little more accumulation. Because of the possibility of slick travel, especially this morning, CBS 21 First Warning Weather has declared Monday a Weather Watch Day.

The main event this week will come Wednesday and Thursday. This is a classic setup for accumulating snow in central PA. The snow will likely be enough to shovel and will have the heavy, wet consistency. There is still great uncertainty with the exact track of the storm, but the chances for disruptive winter weather is increasing. Make sure you have alternative plans during the Wednesday/Thursday timeframe as travel will be impacted. For this reason, CBS 21 First Warning Weather has also declared Wednesday a Weather Watch Day.

Seasonably cold December weather will stick around the rest of the week. It's beginning to look a lot like... winter!
