>>Three Mile Island Sale Approved

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The sale of Three Mile Island's Unit Two is being approved by federal regulators. The U-S Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved the sale to a Utah-based company yesterday. The company is being charged for the decommissioning process that began in 1979. Some state officials have voiced their concerns over the company's ability to pay for the one-point-four-billion-dollar process, but the approval came with no public hearing.

>>Harrisburg's New Year's Eve Celebration Going Virtual

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Harrisburg New Year's Eve celebration is going to be hosted virtually this holiday season. The city made the announcement yesterday. A virtual countdown will be available featuring the mascot of the Harrisburg Senators, Rascal. Families are being invited to sign up for a free balloon drop kit for their kids, and they can submit photos and messages that will be shown beside the fireworks. The city says the decision was made because of the COVID-19 precautions.

>>Some Dogs Rescued From Dog Meat Farm Up For Adoption

(York County, PA) -- Some dogs rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm are being put up for adoption by the York County SPCA. The organization announced yesterday four of nine dogs saved by Humane Society International are going up for adoption this week. The Humane Society International has rescued about 200 dogs from dog meat markets and nine of them were given to the York County SPCA last month.

>>Police Investigating Monday Shooting In Lancaster County

(Lancaster County, PA) -- Columbia Borough Police are investigating a Monday night shooting. The incident happened in the area of South 8th and Houston streets.

Police say five gunshots were fired into a home, but nobody inside was injured. Anyone in the area with any possible information or security camera footage is being asked to contact the Columbia Borough Police Department.

>>Department Of Health Adds 82-Hundred COVID-19 Cases Across PA

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Health are reporting another 82-hundred-91 COVID-19 cases across P-A. Wednesday’s announcement brings the total number of confirmed or probable cases to 375,431 since the start of the pandemic. Health officials say nearly five-thousand patients are hospitalized and positive with the virus, which is up 238 from the previous day.

>>State Sets Fleet Vehicle Auction For Next Week

(East Hanover Twp., PA) -- The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is preparing for another fleet vehicle auction next week. The event at Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania in East Hanover Township will start Tuesday morning with over 70 motorcycles and nearly 300 vehicles available for purchase. Pre-registration starts today through Sunday at the auction site when they’ll also be allowed to view all the vehicles.

>>Large Hardware Store Coming To Upper Allen Township

(Upper Allen Twp., PA) -- A large hardware store is coming to Upper Allen Township. PaulB Hardware will open on Gettysburg Pike near Messiah College and Planet Fitness next fall. The 25,000-square-foot store will employee 30 people to start and will become their third store, with the others in Lancaster and Mifflin counties.

>>Rutters Gives Back To Local Charities

(York, PA) -- Rutters is in the giving spirit. The York-based convenience store chain announced yesterday they were giving a share of 100-grand to seven charities. Those charities are Make-A-Wish of Greater PA and West Virginia, Adams County SPCA, YMCA of Centre County, Easter Seals Western and Central PA, and Trone Memorial Library of East Berlin. They’ve donated over $600,000, focusing its use on helping kids in their communities.

>>Local Salvation Army Red Kettle Gets Extra Generous Donation

(Lower Paxton Twp., PA) -- Officials with the Salvation Army say someone was extra generous this season with one of their iconic red kettles. On Monday, someone put a one-ounce gold piece into the kettle positioned outside of Karns on Jonestown Road. A jeweler from Mountz Jewelers determined its value at 17-hundred-dollars.

>>Reading School Board Reinstating Winter Sports

(Reading, PA) -- Reading School sports and extracurricular activities are coming back. The school board voted yesterday to reinstate high school sports and activities at the middle and junior high-level. The vote passed five-to-four. New measures are going to take place such as students must have their parent's permission to play, there will be no spectators allowed for home games, and athletes must wear masks when they aren't participating.

>>Fire In Perry Township

(Perry Township, PA) -- Residents in Perry Township are now displaced after a porch fire caused unfixable damage to their home. The fire happened at 40 Perry Road yesterday morning. Investigators say the fire started by an electrical outlet that caused the front porch to go up in flames. Three other vehicles also caught fire. An estimated cost of damages is over 300-thousand-dollars.

>>Lancaster County Man Arrested For Attempted Murder

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a 56-year-old man. Police say they arrested the 19-year-old suspect yesterday on the 200-block of Main Street in Mountville. The man is being charged for attempted murder in the stabbing incident and is also facing charges for burglary from earlier this year.

>>Lancaster Couple Charged For Stealing From Over 20 Vehicles

(Lancaster, PA) -- A Lancaster couple is being accused of stealing from over 20 vehicles in York County. The couple is facing charges of criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle. Police say the couple were breaking into vehicles that were in the Lock 12 parking lot by the Norman Wood Bridge on Holtwood Road during a six-month span. 

>>Mineshaft Hole Expands In Washington Township

(Washington Township, PA) -- A mineshaft hole is expanding in Washington Township. The hole is off of Old Route One-Hundred near Barto Road. Officials said yesterday the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation is working on a plan to fill it. The hole first opened last month and will most likely be filled in with gravel.

>>Lehigh Valley Health Network Sees Record COVID Hospitalizations

(Lehigh, PA) -- Lehigh Valley Health Network is sounding the alarm as the network reached an all time high in COVID-19 hospitalizations. On Tuesday, the hospital chain reported they surpassed three-hundred COVID-19 patients across all its hospitals, beating its highest levels from the spring. Officials say the virus is real, the surge is real and your impact on the community is real as they urge everyone to social distance, wear your mask, wash your hands and stay home if you feel sick.

>>Republican Lawmakers Want To Address Election Concerns

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Republican state lawmakers are calling on Governor Tom Wolf to call the General Assembly back to session to address election concerns. Despite there being no evidence of election fraud, state Representative Daryl Metcalfe says they have several questions they need answered regarding drop boxes, ballot handling and more to restore faith in the electoral process. The governor's office responded by saying no, and that Pennsylvania had a secure election as state and federal judges have rejected many reckless accusations. Wolf's office added that the representatives must move forward, and Pennsylvanians deserve better from their elected officials as spreading lies and misinformation is irresponsible.
