(Harrisburg, PA) -- Central Dauphin School District students are going to shift to remote-learning starting December 1st due to COVID-19. Board officials sent an email notifying parents of the closure yesterday. The district is offering students a grab-and-go food service during the closure. They will also still be offering free COVID-19 testing at the school buildings. Students are expected to be in remote-learning throughout next month and the board plans to reevaluate the situation during this coming winter break.

(York County, PA) -- A York County Judicial Center Court employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The County Court Administration announced yesterday the employee's confirmed positive COVID-19 test. The employee was last at the judicial center last Monday. The administration says contact tracing has just begun but there is no indication if the public was exposed to the infected employee. Officials say the work areas where the employee had physical contact are being disinfected and deep-cleaned.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg University is planning to host a virtual viewing for the newly released Esports documentary called "A Rising Storm." The documentary is about the university's journey in building a world-class Esports program. The viewing is scheduled to be held next Wednesday at six-thirty in the afternoon. The university president, the director of Esports, the director of the film and Harrisburg University Storm players will be answering questions after the viewing. People are being invited to join the free viewing party on the Storm's Twitch channel.

The school board voted yesterday to move to remote-learning. The next meeting is scheduled for December 7th and the board plans to reassess the situation then. Students will be in remote-learning until at least December 11th.
>>Wolf Administration Grant Will Help Rebuild York City Creek
(York, PA) -- A grant from the Wolf administration is going to help rebuild a portion of Codorus Creek in York City. The state announced yesterday its plans to begin rebuilding the section of the creek. The 400-thousand-dollar investment is going to add a new kayak launch and fishing platform. The Wolf administration says it plans to also support stream restoration and the construction of about two-thousand feet of trail that will connect to the Heritage Rail Trail.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Commonwealth of P-A is rolling out new COVID-19 mitigation efforts. Among them is that the retail food industry cannot serve alcohol after 5 p-m tomorrow, with Thanksgiving Eve traditionally serving as one of the busiest bar nights of the year. They are also clamping down on indoor and outdoor gathering sizes again as well as discouraging household gatherings with non-household members.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Department of Health is announcing eleven-thousand-837 new COVID-19 cases for the Commonwealth of P-A over the past two days. The announcement Monday, which covers all cases reported since Saturday’s release, brings the total number of confirmed or probable cases to 314-thousand-401 since the start of the pandemic. State officials added 41 new deaths related to coronavirus complications, bringing the statewide total to 98-hundred 70.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State health officials say they fear I-C-U beds across P-A could be filled within a week should COVID-19 cases continue to spike. Doctor Rachel Levine says 63 of the state’s 67 counties are considered to have a substantial spread of the virus. In fact, only one county, Cameron County, has a positive test rate below five percent.

(Swatara Twp., PA) -- A fourth person is being detained for a shooting that happened earlier this month at a Swatara Township smoke shop. Suman Tamang is in custody in Rochester, New York, for the incident at Derry Smoke Shop on the five-thousand-block of Derry Street. Police identified the 18-year-old as the shooter in the incident November 13th, which was believed to be retaliation for the stabbing of his friend.

(York, PA) -- The 24thannual York Y-M-C-A Turkey Trot is going virtual this year. This year’s event will take place between this Thursday and Saturday, traditionally drawing around five-thousand people. The race benefits the Livestrong Foundation at the Y, and it’s reported donations are down this year compared to previous years.
