>>Berks County EMS COVID-19 Task Force Wonders Why They Were Rejected For Hazard Pay Grant

(Reading, PA) -- The state is approving hazard pay grants for many frontline workers during the pandemic, but some EMS providers say they have been left out. The grants allow organizations to give workers making under $20 an hour an additional three dollars an hour. Members of the Berks County's EMS COVID-19 Task Force say they don't know why the state rejected their applications. The Department of Community and Economic Development awarded 50 million dollars in grants this week, after receiving more than ten-thousand applications.
