California Woman Coughs On A One-Year-Old After Argument With Child's Mom

Authorities in San Jose are searching for a woman accused of intentionally coughing in the face of a one-year-old babyMireya Mora was standing online at Yogurtland with her one-year-old son in a stroller when the woman in front of them felt they were too close.

The woman started to argue with Mora and then removed her mask and coughed in the face of Mora's son.

"It happened so quick I was in shock. She got close, she took off her mask, and she coughed three times super hard on my son's face," Mora told KGO-TV. "Coughing on someone's face, she did it on purpose. It's not that she coughed on accident. No, she purposely coughed on my son's face."

Mora said her son developed a slight fever and started coughing following the incident. She said he has gotten better and is hopeful that he didn't contract COVID-19.

"If he were to get sick… I can't even imagine," she said.

The San Jose Police Department released surveillance video from inside the store and have asked the public for help identifying the woman, who is believed to be in her 60s.
