The thirty-eighth annual Boehm's Heritage Sunday will be held June 23, 2019.A brief business meeting will begin at 4:00 PM, followed immediately by an old-fashioned hymn sing in the historic, 1791 chapel located at 13 West Boehm's Road, Willow Street, PA.
The Rev. Mark Herr will lead the hymn sing with accompaniment on the original Wilcox and White reed organ purchased in the late 19th century for the neighboring Safe Harbor Methodist Episcopal Church.Boehm's Chapel was part of the Safe Harbor and Manor Mission Circuit within the South Philadelphia District of the Methodist Episcopal Church, between 1856-1865.
The Rev. Mark Herr is the dean of the Lancaster Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and has also acted as director of The Reading Liederkranz Singers since 2007. Members of the choral group will perform four selections in German including hymns"Praise to the Lord, the Almighty", "Fairest Lord Jesus", a German choral piece, based on Psalm 150, plus an additional piece, yet to be determined.
