2019 Spring Concert

The Dickinson College Orchestra and Choir will present their 2019 Spring Concert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford St., Carlisle on Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m. Featured will be Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, a beloved and well-known sacred work focusing on the comfort and peacefulness of eternal rest. The Dickinson Orchestra, directed by guest conductor Peter Brye, and the College Choir, directed by Amy Wlodarski, will be joined by soprano Elizabeth Shoenfelt and baritone Jonathan Hays. Also featured will be Franz Liszt’s orchestral work, Les Préludes. A highlight of the concert will be a performance by the winners of this year's Department of Music student concerto competition, Uyen Dam and Shourya Kishorepuria. They will play the first movement of Francis Poulenc's Concerto in D minor for Two Pianos with the Dickinson Orchestra. The concert, sponsored by Fine Arts at First, is free. A freewill offering will be received, and a dessert reception will be held following the performance. For more information, call the church, 717-249-3310, or go to www.firstlutherancarlisle.org.
