It has been over 20 years since Animal Planet aired The Crocodile Hunter, which made Steve Irwin a household name. Now more than a decade since Steve's untimely death, his family is getting ready to return to the network that started it all for them.
The network announced that Steve's widow, Terri, and their children Bindi and Robert are going to be carrying on his legacy with new television projects.
"Steve Irwin was a champion for all wildlife and he and Terri's excitement and enthusiasm brought viewers from around the world in touch with nature," Patrice Andrews, general manager of Animal Planet, said in a press release. "Their passion for animals, love for their family, and leadership in conservation awareness left a strong legacy that continues today. We are thrilled to have Terri, Bindi, and Robert back in the Animal Planet family."
The family has continued their father's passion of preservation and as outspoken activists. Terri has been active in the support of the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Cape York, while their children have not shied away from the spotlight.
Bindi won the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars in 2015, and Robert hosted the Discovery Kids series Wild But True and has made several appearances on The Tonight Show.
It was Bindi who teased on her Instagram that something big was happening for their family.
