“REAL TRAINS…REAL HISTORY” – (rebroadcast from March 4, 2017)

Did you know the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania (located in Strasburg, Lancaster County) was the first major museum created to preserve and document the rich heritage of railroading in America?

And lucky for us, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is also considered one of the top three railroad museums on the planet.

With a world-class collection of over 100 historic locomotives and vintage railroad cars ; hundreds of thousands of railroad artifacts ; an interactive education center ; a vast library ; a working restoration shop and authentic museum store – the Railroad museum of Pennsylvania is an experience for every member of the family.

Do you need to be a rail fan or train fanatic to enjoy a day at the museum? “Absolutely not”, says Patrick Morrison, Museum Site Administrator & Director of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania – “but you may become one.” “If you want to learn about American history, specifically Pennsylvania history, you won’t leave disappointed”.

Patrick Morrison and Craig Haberle, a member of the non-profit “Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania”, will be my “Let’s Talk Travel with AAA” guests Saturday, March 4th at 11am on WHP580.

An overview of the 2017 “Rambles” will be discussed, including the Iron Ore Special on May 18 ; Pacific Northwest Sept. 11-18 ; and the Canadian Rockies Oct. 3-12 plus special events throughout the year.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, with the active support of the non-profit Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. For all details, go to www.rrmuseumpa.org.
