>>Woman Charged With DUI After Driving Into Festival, Injuring Three

A woman has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing her minivan into the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Labor Day (September 1), injuring three people. Elizabeth Ann Bohrer, 37, from York Haven, faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, reckless driving, and endangering others.

According to police, Bohrer drove her minivan through barriers at the festival, striking a six-year-old boy, a woman in a wheelchair, and a public works employee. The boy is in critical condition with a fractured pelvis, broken jaw, and other injuries. The woman and the public works employee are in stable condition. Witnesses described Bohrer as appearing "out of it" and showing signs of impairment. Police noted she was aggressive towards officers and incoherent during questioning.

Bohrer was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for a blood draw. Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine if Bohrer's actions were intentional. She is being held on $350,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on September 17.

Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams expressed her support for the victims, stating, "Harrisburg will not tolerate reckless disregard for human life." Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick also extended his prayers to those injured and praised the swift response of first responders.
