Congressman Perry Calls For Protective Custody For Maxwell

Congressman Scott Perry from Pennsylvania has requested that Ghislaine Maxwell be placed in protective custody following her subpoena by the House Oversight Committee. Perry sent a letter to the Federal Bureau of Prisons on Tuesday (July 22), urging that Maxwell be moved to a Special Housing Unit and continuously monitored until her deposition on August 11.

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking charges, is expected to testify about her connections with the late Jeffrey Epstein. Congressman Perry emphasized the importance of ensuring Maxwell's safety, citing the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death in 2019. He stated on his Facebook page, "What does Ghislaine Maxwell know? I guess we’re gonna find out when she testifies before the House Oversight Committee."

Perry's letter to the Bureau of Prisons Director William Marshall stressed the need for immediate action to protect Maxwell, ensuring she can testify under oath. He called for her to be isolated from other inmates, protected by guards, and monitored by functioning surveillance equipment.

The congressman highlighted the critical nature of Maxwell's testimony in shedding light on the Epstein case and expressed concern for the survivors of Epstein's crimes. Perry's request aims to prevent any failure in the justice system, ensuring Maxwell's availability to provide crucial testimony.
