DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Parts of I-283 have been closed indefinitely after a tanker truck flipped on its side, according to PennDOT.
PennDOT officials state that a tanker truck flipped over on its side toward I-83 north, south and 322 West toward Hershey around 8:00p.m.
Hazardous material crews have been called to the scene as the vehicle is leaking fuel. The closure is expected to last for another five hours as the tanker needs to be emptied.
Officials state that I-283 is closed at Exit 2 until further notice. Crews are working to dig up the median and contain the spill to the best of their ability.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
