Former EMS Chief Sentence For Sexually Assaulting Teen Volunteer
(Cumberland County, PA) -- A former EMS chief in Cumberland County is being sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a teenager volunteer. Douglas Shields faces up to 17 years behind bars after being convicted of using his position to sexually assault a teenager enrolled in the junior EMT program. Officials said the investigation revealed multiple additional victims, who said they were hesitant to report the abuse due to Shields' status. Shields will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
