>Man Sentenced For Possessing Over 200 Grams Of Fentanyl

A Harrisburg man, Tayvain Folkes, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearm charges. The U.S. District Court sentenced the 24-year-old after law enforcement discovered 269 grams of fentanyl, a Glock 9mm pistol, and $35,000 in cash during a raid on his home in December 2021. Folkes was initially arrested after selling fentanyl to an undercover officer.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence. The operation involved the FBI, the Vice Unit, the Dauphin County Drug Task Force, and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Folkes admitted to possessing the firearm and drugs after his arrest. The Attorney’s Office emphasized that this case highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement to ensure community safety.
