Homicide Investigation After Assault in Dauphin County

Swatara Township Police are investigating a homicide following an assault in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. On Tuesday (January 28), officers responded to reports of an assault at 2771 Paxton Street. Upon arrival, they discovered blood in the parking lot and reviewed surveillance footage showing the assault occurred the previous night. The victim, identified as 61-year-old Jorge Morales from Harrisburg, was found dead in his vehicle near Paxtang Cemetery.

The surveillance video revealed that Morales and a male suspect arrived at the location in Morales' vehicle. During the assault, the suspect stabbed Morales. Both individuals then left the business in the victim's vehicle. The suspect was later seen walking in the area of Paxtang Avenue and Derry Street between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM on January 27.

The Dauphin County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined the manner of death to be homicide. The Swatara Township Police, in conjunction with the Dauphin County Coroner's Office and the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office, are continuing the investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the homicide to contact the Swatara Township Police at 717-564-2550 or submit a tip online. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
