Gasoline prices in Pennsylvania have remained stable over the past week, with the average price holding at $3.26 per gallon, according to a survey by GasBuddy. This price is 2.4 cents higher than a month ago but 6.2 cents lower than the same time last year. Across the state, prices vary significantly, with the cheapest station offering gas at $2.69 per gallon and the most expensive at $3.99 per gallon, a difference of $1.30.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline has decreased by 1.1 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.02 per gallon. Diesel prices, however, have seen a rise of 3.7 cents, reaching $3.525 per gallon.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, noted that while gas prices have been relatively stable, rising oil prices due to new sanctions by President Biden could lead to future increases. He mentioned that colder weather has already pushed diesel prices higher and could affect gasoline prices if refiners face disruptions. De Haan also warned that the upcoming refinery maintenance season might lead to a spring rally in gas prices.
