A woman from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, is in custody for allegedly making death threats against a judge in Franklin County. Police have identified the suspect as 49-year-old Racquel Perez. According to the criminal complaint, Perez posted multiple threats on social media platform X, targeting the judge.
The threats were flagged by the Judicial Security Analyst with the Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts, who provided copies to the police. One of the posts reportedly stated, "I’m soon be justified in homicide," expressing her intent to harm the judge. The judge has expressed significant concern for his and his family's safety due to these threats.
Perez is facing four misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats causing serious inconvenience. She is currently being held in Franklin County Prison with bail set at $75,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 14.
According to the police, Perez's social media account was linked to her known email address, which helped in identifying her as the suspect. The case highlights the ongoing concerns over threats against public officials and the measures taken to ensure their safety.
