Smoke Condition Caused By Controlled Burn

(Fort Indiantown Gap, PA) -- Heavy smoke seen along I-81 yesterday is being blamed on controlled burns at Fort Indiantown Gap. The Pennsylvania National Guard says the burns were conducted on the base near Manada Gap and Penn National Race Couse. Drivers could reportedly see smoke in Lebanon, Dauphin, and Schuylkill Counties. Controlled burns are conducted to reduce the risk of wildfires by removing leaves and forest debris.
