Billionaire Elon Musk has pledged to give away $1 million a day to individuals who sign his online petition supporting the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The announcement was made during a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in support of former President Donald Trump. The giveaway will continue daily until Election Day.

The first recipient of the million-dollar check was John Dreher, an attendee at the rally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The giveaway is only available to registered voters in swing states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.

According to AP News, the giveaway has raised questions among election experts who argue that it may be a violation of the law to link a cash handout to signing a petition that also requires a person to be registered to vote. Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania expressed concern about the plan, stating, “I think there are real questions with how he is spending money in this race, how the dark money is flowing, not just into Pennsylvania, but apparently now into the pockets of Pennsylvanians. That is deeply concerning.”
