The final debate between Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate candidates, Democratic Senator Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick, was marked by sharp disagreements and heated exchanges. The debate, held in Harrisburg, covered a range of issues including federal spending, immigration, and abortion. Both candidates accused each other of misrepresenting their positions and records.

Casey and McCormick disagreed on everything from the U.S. economy to abortion and immigration. McCormick criticized Casey's voting record, accusing him of aligning too closely with the Biden-Harris administration. Casey, in turn, suggested that McCormick had invested in China and Russia during his tenure as a hedge fund CEO.

On the topic of abortion, McCormick stated that he believed abortions should only be available in "very rare instances," and that the issue should be left to the states. Casey, who has previously identified as a "pro-life Democrat," stated that he supports the tenets of Roe v. Wade.

The debate also touched on the candidates' personal lives and backgrounds. Casey accused McCormick of lying about his residency, claiming that McCormick had been living in Connecticut, not Pennsylvania. McCormick defended himself, stating that he is a seventh-generation Pennsylvanian and that he spends time in Connecticut because his daughters live there with their mother.

The debate comes as early voting has already begun in Pennsylvania. The latest polls show Casey leading McCormick by five points. The general election is set for November 5, 2024.

According to AP News, the debate was held at the WPVI-TV studio in Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
