Perry-Stelson Debate Held On Tuesday

The only scheduled debate between Republican Congressman Scott Perry and his Democratic opponent Janelle Stelson took place on Tuesday night. The two candidates, vying for Pennsylvania's Tenth District, sparred over several contentious topics, including immigration and abortion.

Stelson, a former television news anchor running for office for the first time, argued for the codification of Roe v. Wade. Perry, who has served in Congress since 2013, countered with his belief that abortion should be banned, with exceptions for cases of rape, incest, and when the mother's life is at risk.

The debate highlighted the stark differences between the two candidates. Perry, known as one of the most fiscally conservative Republicans in Congress, has been a vocal advocate for "draining the swamp" in Washington, a mantra popularized by former President Donald J. Trump. Stelson, on the other hand, is a newcomer to the political scene, bringing a fresh perspective to the race.

The debate was held at the WHTM studios in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The race for Pennsylvania's Tenth District is expected to be closely contested, with both candidates eager to demonstrate that they best reflect the judgment and temperament of the voters in southcentral Pennsylvania.
