York County Woman Sentenced to 20-40 Years for Child Sex Crimes

Marisel Toro, a 23-year-old woman from York City, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in state prison for child sex crimes. Toro pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal conspiracy – involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child. Following her prison sentence, she will be on probation for three years. The sentencing took place on Friday, according to the York County District Attorney's office.

Toro and her partner, Wyatt Jones, were indicted by a federal grand jury in 2022. Jones, 28, was previously sentenced to 45 years in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release for producing and distributing images of him sexually abusing their infant daughter. He was also ordered to pay $36,000 in restitution to the victims of his offenses.

ABC27 reported that other charges against Toro, including rape of a child and child pornography, were dismissed. The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
