Woman Accused Of Impersonating FBI Agent To Take Custody Of Inmate

A 30-year-old woman from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Rebecca Frye, has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly impersonating an FBI agent in an attempt to facilitate a prison break. Frye arrived at SCI Camp Hill prison on the morning of October 2, claiming to be an FBI agent seeking custody of an inmate, Christopher Slaughter, according to an affidavit reported by PennLive.

Frye reportedly intended to help Slaughter, who is serving a sentence for causing a crash that seriously injured a police officer in 2013, escape the prison so they could leave the state or even the country to start a new life. However, prison officials became suspicious when Frye failed to present any credentials to support her claim of being an FBI agent. Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene and confirmed that Frye had no affiliation with the FBI.

Frye has been charged with felony criminal attempted escape, felony hindering apprehension or prosecution, felony criminal use of a communication facility, misdemeanor defiant trespassing, and misdemeanor impersonating a public servant, according to TriStateAlert.com. She is currently being held at Cumberland County Prison awaiting arraignment.
