A hit-and-run incident involving a motorcyclist is currently under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police. The incident occurred on Interstate 81 North in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, just before 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday (October 2).
According to the police, a dark gray Dodge pickup truck attempted to overtake the motorcyclist, a man from Biglerville, using the left-hand lane. Upon reentering the right-hand lane, the driver of the pickup truck sideswiped the motorcyclist with the tail bed of the truck. This caused the motorcyclist to fall from his bike and slide into the center of the roadway. The driver of the pickup truck then fled the scene.
Despite the circumstances, the motorcyclist was not injured in the crash. State Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashboard camera footage of the crash to contact Trooper Alex Kydd at the PSP Harrisburg Station. The investigation is ongoing.
