The DHL Supply Chain facility located at 2771 North Market Street in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, is set to close its doors on November 10, resulting in the loss of 268 jobs. The facility, which has been operational since August 2023, is operated by DHL for the British online fashion retailer, Boohoo Group.
According to a WARN Notice filed with the Department of Labor & Industry, the closure is part of Boohoo's strategy to reposition the group for sustainable, profitable growth. As a result, Boohoo will cease supplying customers from its Dauphin County facility and will instead fulfill all US orders from its automated UK distribution facility.
In a statement to ABC27 News, DHL Supply Chain said, “DHL Supply Chain was recently informed of a decision by one of our customers to restructure its distribution channels. As a result, the warehouse facility that supports their operations will ramp down operations through the end of the year. In the coming weeks, we will work with our associates to determine opportunities to continue their career as valued team members of DHL Supply Chain.”
Boohoo plans to sublet the 1.1 million square foot facility once operations at the site conclude.
