The Harrisburg Senators are set to face the Reading Fightin Phils tonight at FNB Field, aiming to even the series after a 3-1 loss last night. The Senators currently trail 2-1 in the series.
The Senators started the series on a high note, defeating the Fightin Phils 5-4 on Tuesday night. They had built up a 5-0 lead by the end of the 7th inning before Reading rallied for four runs in the 8th inning, making it a one-run game. However, Reading’s rally fell just short, according to MiLB.com.
The tide turned on Wednesday when the Senators were shut out by the Fightin Phils 3-0. Reading took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning, then added two more runs to make it a 3-0 lead in the 8th. Despite bringing the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th, the Senators couldn’t push a run across the plate.
Last night, both teams scored single runs in the 1st inning before Reading took the lead with another run in the 2nd, then tacked on another in the 5th. The Senators brought the potential game-winning run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th, but they could not score, according to OurSports Central.
The first pitch for tonight's game is set for seven at FNB Field. The Senators will be looking to tie up the series and keep their hopes alive.
