Harrisburg To Get Federal Funding For Safe Streets Program
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg is getting funding from the federal government to make downtown safer. The Department of Transportation is awarding the city a million dollars as part of its "Safe Streets and Roads for All" program. The money will go toward improving the timing of traffic signals to lower the chances of a crash at an intersection. According to WHTM-TV, there have been more than a dozen major crashes at downtown intersections with traffic lights.
