>Value Is Key Component For Fast Food Restaurant Success
(New York, NY) -- The price gap between fast-food and fast-casual restaurants is shrinking, which is creating winners and losers. Experts say some of the fast-casual chains are doing better because they are seen as more of a treat and there are fewer expectations around very low prices. Restaurant food prices increased by 30-percent from July 2019 to July 2024, according to the latest Consumer Price Index. Seventy-eight-percent of people surveyed by LendingTree said they now view fast food as a luxury. The winners: Wingstop, Cava, Chipotle, Sweetgreen, and Taco Bell. And the losers: KFC, Papa John's, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and McDonald's.
