The investigation into the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old girl in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, continues as police believe the victim, Naryah Wright, was not the intended target. The incident occurred near South 19th and Derry Streets early Sunday morning, with reports suggesting the possibility of multiple shooters. No arrests have been made so far.
Wright was part of a large group, including other teenagers, when the shooting took place around 12:15 a.m. She was rushed to a local hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators are making progress but still have a long way to go.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to cover Wright's funeral expenses, raising over $5,600 towards a $7,000 goal as of Monday afternoon. Wright was the youngest person killed in Harrisburg this year and one of the youngest killed by a shooting in the city in the last decade. Her death marked the 14th homicide in the city in 2024.
