>>State Lawmakers React To Trump Assassination Attempt
(Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster County lawmakers are calling for unity after the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump in Pennsylvania over the weekend. State House GOP Leader Bryan Cutler of Drumore Township said political violence or calls for violence have no place in civil discourse or as part of reasoned debate. State Senator Ryan Aument, a Republican from West Hempfield Township statement:
"Like many of you, I have been reflecting on the shocking and horrific events that unfolded last evening at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania. It’s been 43 years since there’s been an attempt on an American president’s life and I know we all feel the shock and anger resulting from such a heinous act. Coming up with the right words in times like these is certainly difficult, but let me be clear - no matter what the motive, these acts are deplorable and must not be tolerated in American democracy. My thoughts and prayers are with President Trump as he recovers, and also with the families of those who were fatally or critically wounded in the attack. I am sincerely thankful for the bravery of the members of the Secret Service and Pennsylvania State Police who acted quickly to protect the President and civilians during the attack. As we have before, Americans will overcome this dark spot and move forward, together."
