Pennsylvania's New Budget Tops 547-And-A-Half Trillion
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania has a new, 47-and-a-half billion-dollar budget. Lawmakers approved the budget late last week, and the governor signed-it immediately. The budget spends more than a billion-dollars-more on public schools in the state. There is also more money for human services and transit systems across the state. Governor Shapiro said the budget makes the lives of Pennsylvanians better. Republicans, however, say the new budget drains Pennsylvania's savings accounts, and creates new spending programs that will continue to cost the state for years to come.
