Judicial Emergency Issued After Resignations
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is issuing a judicial emergency in Dauphin County following the resignation of the Clerk of Courts. Clerk Bridget Whitley and first deputy Cole Goodman resigned while second deputy Rogette Harris was fired after the Court says investigators found "substantial deficiencies and an unacceptable backlog in filing, scanning, and processing orders and documents." The emergency allows County President Judge Scott Evans to appoint an acting Clerk of Courts for the time being. The county executive branch will find a permanent replacement.
