Emergency Declaration Following Water Main Break
(Lancaster County, PA) -- Lancaster County is declaring an emergency following a water main break in the Government Center last weekend. County officials say the break on Saturday heavily damaged the bottom three floors of the building, and repairs will likely cause hundreds of thousands of dollars. The emergency declaration passed by the Board of Commissioners Wednesday allows the county to bypass certain protocols in order to hire workers as soon as possible. The county is hoping to reopen the Government Center next Monday.
