Hampden Township Police Say Swatting Incident Prompted Shelter In Place Warning
(Camp Hill, PA) -- A Cumberland County law enforcement agency says a hoax was behind the shelter in place order that was issued yesterday. Officials with the Hampden Township Police Department say they responded to a call that turned out to be a swatting incident in the Pinehurst development. Just before 4:00 p.m., the agency warned nearby neighbors to stay in their homes, away from doors and windows. Authorities say no crime was actually committed in the area and no one needed assistance.
