Dauphin County Commissioners Approve Payment To NRA For Great American Outdoor Show
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Dauphin County commissioners are approving a payment to the National Rifle Association for costs involved with the Great American Outdoor Show. A total of 110-thousand dollars is being paid out following a two-to-one vote during a session yesterday. Democrat Commissioner Justin Douglas voted against the payment, saying he has "deep moral issues" with providing the funding for the pro-gun lobbying group. Fellow Democrat, Commissioner George Hartwick, noted that gun violence is a significant problem for the city of Harrisburg, but revenue generated by the outdoor show supports local businesses that depend on the income.
