Rescued Great Horned Owl Chick Doing Well
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Great Horned Owl chick is said to be recovering nicely after it was rescued from a Harrisburg-area golf course. Wildlife experts at the Raven Ridge Center posted on social media that the rescued baby bird doesn't have any injuries and is quickly gaining weight. A foster bird named Pharoah, another Great Horned Owl, is reportedly taking the chick under its wing and helping him recover. The wildlife center's team says they're taking care to make sure the baby doesn't imprint on humans as it's important that the chick recognizes only natural behavior.
