Regional Police Say They'll Issue Citations to Golf Cart Drivers
(Lancaster, PA) -- Susquehanna Regional Police say they'll issue warnings and citations to people operating golf carts in Marietta Borough. That's despite local laws that allow them to be driven on most public streets. The three-quarter-square-mile borough passed an ordinance in September, but that conflicts with state law, which regional police say takes precedence over the new local law. So far, no one's been issued a warning or citation but that may change as the weather warms up and golf cart driving becomes more prevalent in Marietta.
