Reauthorized Speed Camera Program Grants Drivers Grace Period
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike have been tweaking the rules governing speed cameras used in work zones. Officials say that drivers will get a warning instead of a ticket the first time they are caught speeding on camera in a work zone. There's also now a 15-day grace period in which drivers won't get a ticket even if they are caught on camera speeding a second time. PennDOT officials say the change is intended to make sure drivers receive their warning before they start getting ticketed.
