Safety Fence Erected Around Contaminated
(Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster city workers have installed a six-foot, black chain link fence so the public can't get to a stream at Conestoga Pines Park. That action comes after Lancaster city tests revealed water contamination. Officials say the safety fencing effort to address a history of water contamination dates back more than 30 years. The unnamed stream feeds into the Conestoga River, borders a public pool and walking trails. It starts as a spring near the maintenance barn in the park.
