>Causes of Inn Explosion, Fire At Popular Restaurant In Lancaster County Revealed
(Lancaster, PA) -- The president of a restaurant in Lancaster County has revealed the cause of a fire that damaged his businesses last month. John Smucker the Second says investigators determined the January 30th fire at Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant and Smorgasbord happened when an exhaust fan in the kitchen malfunctioned and overheated. Smucker says they're moving the business to a temporary location at the former Revere Tavern in Paradise. The restaurant fire happened just a few weeks after an explosion and fire at the nearby Bird-in-Hand Family Inn in which an employee died. The cause of that was a leak in an underground gas line.
