PHFA Mortgage Relief Program to Restart in March

(Harrisburg, PA) - A mortgage relief program to assist homeowners recovering from the pandemic is set to reopen in March. The Pennsylvania Homeowner Assistance Fund was designed to help with back mortgage payments, property taxes, and other housing costs. It closed more than a year ago, and the PA Housing Finance Agency took over the program's operations. PHFA spokesperson Scott Elliott says about 46-million in federal funding remains to help new applicants. As of February 1st, the program has assisted more than 15-thousand households with nearly 200-million in disbursements.
